Fees: Editing of English

The standard rates are as follows:
Standard editing
---£ 3.97 per 100 words (includes first editing only)

Intensive editing
---£ 5.94 per 100 words (includes first editing, plus second editing @ £1.97 per 100 words or 39.70 per hour, whichever is cheaper for you)

Superintensive editing
---£ 5.94 per 100 words plus £39.70 for every extra hour

As a rule of thumb, in order to see how much our fees are in US Dollars, multiply the above values by 1.6.

It is not possible to specify in advance what kind of editing your paper will need. However, we will charge you at the lowest level that we can, consistent with the goal of bringing the English in your paper to a publishable standard. Please note that in most cases, intensive editing is required for papers in the life sciences. Note also that if the amount of second editing required is not large, we will not charge you the whole fee for intensive editing, but will charge you at £39.70 per hour for the second editing.

Checking

Checking will incur a fee that is in accordance with the amount of effort involved, levied at £39.70 per hour, with a minimum charge of £24.93. Usually, the fee will increase in relation to the amount of unclarity that the original text contained.

Fees: Editorial advice

Editorial advice is available at a standard rate of £82 per hour. In order to reduce costs, clients should commission editorial advice before they commission editing of English. That way, only one round of editing will be required.

Administration Fees

There is a standard administration fee per paper of £15.

This fee covers the cost of choosing, contacting, and sending your paper out to an editor, communicating with authors when necessary, keeping records associated with your paper, creating and sending out invoices and receipts, and processing payments. We do not make any profit from this fee. We charge it separately because we want it to be the same for each paper, whereas if we included it in the fees for editing, the fee would be greater the longer the paper.

Certification

We will provide certification that Genedits has edited your paper for a standard fee of £12.

N.B. If you arrange for your university to pay the fee, note that we require payment within 30 days. This is because we pay our editors every 30 days, so if we do not receive payment within 30 days, we are forced to go into debt. If your university cannot pay within 30 days, please use an alternative method of payment. We will be pleased if you appreciate the importance of this requirement.

Payment

We accept payment as follows:

Instructions for payment will be sent at the same time as we return a revised version of your paper and an invoice.
